William Luke studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and East Asian Studies as his major and minor areas of concentration respectively at McGill University. Following this, William studied law at the University of Leicester in England where he served as President of the Law Society, graduating with LL.B (Honours). Following graduation from Leicester, he studied for a LL.M. in International Trade and Commercial Law at Durham University also in England, graduating with distinction. While at Durham University, William served as President of the United Kingdom Law Students’ Association (UKLSA). He completed his legal studies in Canada at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. William is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.

William has acquired work experience in the areas of law, trade, finance and diplomacy in several cities and countries that include: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; London, England; Kampala, Uganda; Castries, St. Luciaand Geneva, Switzerland. Accordingly, he is a criminal lawyer with much experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds. William completed his articles of clerkship with a prominent Toronto boutique criminal law firm. As an associate of the firm, he developed a good understanding of administrative and tribunal proceedings, a deep interest in the criminal justice system and a passion for access to justice issues.
